NONGPOH, Dec 2: A 21-year-old woman was found dead late last night at Kamla Bagan in Ri Bhoi District, with her head crushed in what is suspected to be a case of being run over by a truck.
According to information received, the incident is believed to have occurred around midnight. The body of the victim, identified as Blessbina Marak of Jorbil Killing village, was discovered lying on the road by passersby, who promptly informed Khanapara Police Station.
Police personnel arrived at the scene and arranged for the body to be transported to Civil Hospital Nongpoh for post-mortem examination. Investigation to ascertain the exact cause of death has been initiated, and authorities are examining all angles, including negligence or foul play.
