Tynsong inspects highway work

SHILLONG, Dec 5: Deputy Chief Minister, in charge of PWD (Roads), recently inspected the construction of the Shillong–Dawki road, covering the stretch from Umshyrpi Bridge up to Dawki.
During the visit, the Minister received assurances from the companies and contractors that the project would be completed within the stipulated timeframe.
Amid the development works, the Minister also noted damage caused to farmlands and agricultural areas.
Tynsong has directed the district authorities and the SDO (Civil) to thoroughly assess the situation and instruct the company to compensate affected landowners and farmers for the losses incurred.
