Free health camp provides medical support to Balikuchi community members

Guwahati, Dec 8:  A free medical camp focusing on diabetes, blood pressure as well as eye examinations was organised on December 7 at Balikuchi Primary School in Balikuchi in Darrang district of Assam to raise community awareness on common life-style diseases and provide care to the camp participants.

The camp was organised by the Balikuchi Evergreen Socio-economic Development Society in collaboration with Guwahati Lions Eye Hospital. The initiative was led by Society President Aschut Kumar Nath, with coordination and support from Secretary Nripen Kumar Nath and all dedicated members of the organisation, according to a Press release

The camp was formally inaugurated by respected former teacher Pabitra Kumar Nath, who appreciated the effort aimed at community well-being.

More than 100 beneficiaries availed healthcare services during the camp. Following detailed examinations, 18 individuals were diagnosed with cataract and selected for free cataract surgery, arrangements for which are being made by Guwahati Lions Eye Hospital.

A professional medical team from the hospital comprising ophthalmologist Dr. Dimbeswar Pathak, technician Bhavesh Sharma and nurse Montu Das provided expert consultation and diagnostic support throughout the camp.

The Balikuchi Evergreen Socio-economic Development Society extends sincere gratitude to Guwahati Lions Eye Hospital, the medical team, community members and volunteers for their valuable cooperation in making this humanitarian service initiative a meaningful success. The vote of thanks was extended at the end of the camp by Vice-President Bhupen Chandra Nath.
