Dak Adalat
A divisional-level Dak Adalat will be held in the office of the Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Meghalaya Postal Division, Shillong, from 11:30 am onwards on Friday. According to a statement here, the Dak Adalat will entertain grievances pertaining to postal services for its redressal. “Written complaints should be sent so as to reach the office of the Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Meghalaya Postal Division, Shillong on or before 11.12.2025,” the statement said.
Unclaimed body
The Joint Director of Health Services (SS), Civil Hospital, Shillong, has informed that a male patient named Rajan (23), C/o PAB, Civil Hospital, Shillong, who was brought by 108 staff, was declared brought dead at 7:20 pm on December 3. In this regard, all concerned relatives, etc., have been requested to identify the body and collect the same from the hospital morgue within a period of three days.
Carnival
The State Bank of India (SBI) will organise a carnival on Friday at the SBI Main Branch, Shillong. According to a statement here, Datayug Society, which is an NGO, has been invited to disseminate awareness on digital literacy and online fraud prevention among the public.
Winter concert
The Harmini Music Academy will organise its annual winter concert ‘Sounds of Joy’ at 2:30 pm on Saturday at U Soso Tham Auditorium. According to a statement here, the musical event will celebrate the “dedication, hard work and artistic growth” of the students of the Harmini Music Academy.
Cleaning drive
The Dorbar Shnong of Lachaumiere, Shillong, will conduct a cleaning drive on December 13 from 8 am onwards. On this day, a local restriction will be in place until 12 noon. In a statement, Lachaumiere Dorbar Shnong secretary, O. Jala, said that all residents of Lachaumiere are urged to come out in full strength on this day to clean their homes and surrounding areas. Shop owners are also requested to keep their shops temporarily closed until the cleaning drive is completed. After the cleaning drive, a general meeting of all residents will be held on the PWD road opposite Loft Restaurant.
