Bengali short story book released in city

SHILLONG, Dec 14: Bangiya Sahitya Parishad, Shillong, has published its first-ever book titled Rosher Haari — a collection of Bengali short stories authored by Kalpana Choudhury, a retired teacher of Pine Mount School, Shillong.
The book, which was formally launched here on Sunday, captures the essence of life through anecdotal experiences and social realities as observed by the author.
Dr Amitrasudan Bhattacharjee, retired Professor of Bengali from Visva-Bharati, Shantiniketan, an acclaimed writer and literary scholar, was the chief guest.
Other eminent personalities present on the occasion included Dr Jayanta Bhushan Bhattacharjee, former Vice Chancellor of Assam University and president of Bangiya Sahitya Parishad; Debabrata Deb, eminent writer and Editor of Mukhabayob from Agartala and Tanmoy Bir, professor, poet and researcher in Bengali literature from Kolkata.
