Filmmaker James Cameron has responded strongly to criticism of his latest film, Avatar: Fire and Ash, defending his use of 3D and high frame rate (HFR) technology.
While some fans criticized the technique, which involves 48 frames per second for more lifelike visuals compared to the standard 24fps, Cameron insisted it enhances the cinematic experience.
He pointed to the film’s $2.3 billion box office as evidence that audiences appreciate his approach, emphasizing, “I happen to like it, and it’s my movie.”
Cameron also expressed concern over the decline of traditional cinema due to the rise of streaming platforms, calling the past year “tragic” for moviegoing.
He argued that films must now offer extraordinary experiences to draw audiences out of their homes.
According to him, Avatar fits this niche, providing a spectacle worth seeing in theaters despite challenges to the industry. (IANS)
