Cong completes first phase of ‘talent hunt’ in Assam

GUWAHATI, Dec. 18: The first phase of interviews under the ‘Talent Hunt’ selection process for national spokespersons and media panelists of the All-India Congress Committee (AICC) was held here and six other districts of Assam on Thursday.

Conducted in the national context, the selection process saw participation from over 300 candidates across six zones.

In Guwahati, the programme was held at the Manavendra Sharma Complex organised under the supervision of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) and initiated by its media and communication department.

Former MP Ripun Bora, Ram Prasad Sharma and former MLA Mohan Basumatary attended the programme. A senior editor and an advocate of the Gauhati High Court were present as jury members.

Similarly, in Jorhat, MLA Bhaskarjyoti Barua was present as an observer, while a senior journalist and an advocate served as jury members.

In the two hill districts, the programme was attended by spokesperson Sambit Sharma.

In Bongaigaon, the programme was attended by Rupak Das and Junaid Hussain.

In Silchar, where over fifty candidates from the Barak Valley participated in the presence of spokesperson Sanjeev Roy.

Meanwhile, in Tezpur, North Assam, the programme was attended by spokesperson Mohsin Khan along with Kalyan Saikia, with a senior journalist serving as a jury member.

It may be mentioned that the final round of the Talent Hunt selection process will be held in Guwahati on December 21 and 22.
