Info sought on abandoned kids

The District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Ri-Bhoi, has informed that an infant, aged nine months, and his siblings aged 14 years and 11 years, who were abandoned and handed over to the Child Welfare Committee on May 14, 2025, are currently under the care of the Specialised Adoption Agency, Ri-Bhoi, and the Government Children’s Home (Boys), Nongkhrah, Ri-Bhoi. Any person or relatives having any information regarding the case have been requested to contact the concerned offices at the earliest or within sixty days. They may also reach out to the Office of the District Child Protection Unit and the Child Welfare Committee, Sajer, Ri-Bhoi, at 9856131925 or 7005607547, or the Specialised Adoption Agency, Saiden, at 8837220823, failing which the child will be declared legally free for adoption.

Ceremony

The land handover ceremony for the Taj Umiam Resort and Spa will be held at 12 pm on Friday, which will be attended by Chief Minister Conrad Sangma and Tourism Minister Timothy D. Shira as the chief guest and the guest of honour respectively.
