DHAKA, Dec 18: India on Thursday resumed operations at its main visa application centre in Dhaka after a temporary closure due to security concerns, but shut two other centres in Khulna and Rajshahi.
The closures followed heightened tensions after anti-India protesters moved toward the Indian High Commission in Dhaka.
Indian officials said the Dhaka centre is functioning normally, while applicants at the closed centres will be rescheduled.
New Delhi also summoned Bangladesh’s envoy, urging the interim government to ensure the safety of Indian diplomatic missions amid a deteriorating security situation. (PTI)
