SHILLONG, Dec 18: The Meghalaya Transport Commissioner has invited tenders for the establishment and operation of a Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facility (RVSF), a collection and depollution center, and an Automated Testing Station (ATS) at Sumer.
The facilities will be located on government-identified land near the Stage-1 Power Station and offered on a lease basis, subject to terms outlined by the Office of the Commissioner of Transport.
This initiative is part of the Meghalaya Vehicle Scrappage Policy, 2025, which aims to reduce vehicular pollution and formalise the state’s scrappage ecosystem.
