SHILLONG, Dec 19: The state government has released two months of pending salaries for employees of the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) and credited pension payments to former MDCs, the GHADC Sub-Committee announced on Friday.
The decision was confirmed at a Sub-Committee meeting held at the West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner’s office, chaired by Vibhor Agarwal. According to the Sub-Committee, the salary arrears were released on December 19 under its supervision, providing significant relief to employees ahead of Christmas.
The Sub-Committee further stated that GHADC employees and serving MDCs have been receiving their monthly salaries on schedule, in line with an earlier assurance given by Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma.
