TURA, Dec 19: Garo Hillls-based group ACHIK, on Friday, alleged significant irregularities in the appointment of Senior and Assistant System Administrators under the Directorate of Accounts and Treasuries, demanding the immediate cancellation of the process and the initiation of fresh recruitment.
In a complaint addressed to the Director of Accounts and Treasuries, the organisation claimed that local candidates were deprived of opportunities due to “procedurally flawed” appointments.
“It has come to our knowledge that your office has recently made appointments to the posts of Senior System Administrator and Assistant System Administrator. A scrutiny of the process reveals that these appointments are not only irregular but illegal,” the organisation stated.
ACHIK cited several violations, including unauthorised appointments, irregular extensions of service, and the bypassing of mandated recruiting authorities. It further alleged that the department violated the Meghalaya Reservation Policy of 1972 and various government circulars and office memorandums.
The organisation demanded the immediate termination of the current appointments and called for a transparent recruitment process conducted through the Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC), strictly adhering to reservation policies and Personnel & Administrative Reforms (P&AR) Department guidelines.
