MFA to honour stalwarts of Meghalaya football

Shillong, Dec 19: The Meghalaya Football Association (MFA) will honour past and present footballers, coaches and referees who have lifted the standing of the sport in the state over the years at an awards night on Monday.
The function will take place at the State Convention Centre at 6pm where 40 individuals, both men and women, will be recognised by the Meghalaya Football Association for their huge contribution to the beautiful game. On the other hand, the list of awardees is a veritable Who’s Who of Meghalaya football, blending those who have been pathbreakers along with those still building their careers. The players those who will be honoured at the special event have all played for India at junior or senior levels. For their sterling efforts over the years, this recognition is a step to recognise the awardees, encourage them and also inspire the next generation of footballers in Meghalaya to take up this beautiful game.
