Six Bangladeshi women arrested in Nashik for illegal stay

NASHIK, Dec 27: Police have arrested six Bangladeshi nationals in Nashik for staying illegally in India, officials said on Saturday.These women were held near the famous Pandavleni caves on Friday, adding that a local man who helped them for the illegal stay in India was also arrested.Acting on a tip-off, the police laid a trap and took in custody these six women aged between 25 and 41 years.The police found Bangladeshi national ID cards in the mobile phones of these women and also fake Aadhaar and PAN cards. Two persons, identified as Bobby and Lucky alias Liyaqat Hameed Qureshi, both residents of Nashik helped these women to live in Nashik, of whom the latter was arrested.A case has been registered against them under sections of the BNS, the Passport Act and Foreigners Act. Restaurant owner beaten to death for refusing liquor, cigarettes

LATUR, Dec 27: A restaurant owner was beaten to death by three persons, who were later apprehended, for allegedly refusing to give them liquor and cigarettes in Maharashtra’s Latur district.Around Friday midnight, three persons walked into BN Bar and Restaurant and demanded liquor and cigarettes from owner Gajanan Namdev Kasle. When he refused, they got into an argument with him.The trio soon became violent and struck Kasle repeatedly on the head with a stick, killing him on the spot. They also assaulted and seriously injured Kasle’s employee, when he tried to intervene.The attackers then grabbed liquor bottles and Rs 15,000 from the cash counter and escaped.Based on CCTV footage, police apprehended the three attackers. Dinner outing turns fatal as man falls into manhole

VADODARA, Dec 27: A man out for dinner with his family died after falling into an open manhole in Vadodara, officials said on Saturday.Vipulsinh Zala, who was in his 40s, lost his life after he slipped into a 15-30 foot manhole allegedly kept open during cleaning near a sports complex, they said.His relative said Zala stepped out around 7 pm to park his car and asked his family to wait for him.When he did not return for over 20 minutes, we started searching for him. His mobile phone remained switched off.During the search, the family noticed an open manhole. When we looked inside, we saw his boots floating on the surface.After being alerted, fire department personnel reached the spot and pulled Zala out of the pit. He was rushed to a hospital, but doctors declared him dead. (PTI)
