Dhaka, Jan 4: Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Sunday announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, to be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka from February 7 to March 8, with Litton Das set to lead the side.
Litton continues as captain, while Mohammad Saif Hassan has been named his deputy.
The squad sees the return of experienced pacer Taskin Ahmed, who missed Bangladesh’s recent series against Ireland, strengthening the pace department alongside Mustafizur Rahman, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Shoriful Islam and Md Shaifuddin.
Bangladesh have opted for a balanced combination, blending youth and experience across departments.
The batting unit features Tanzid Hasan, Mohammad Parvez Hossain Emon, Tawhid Hridoy and Shamim Hossain, while wicketkeeping responsibilities will be shared between Litton Das and Qazi Nurul Hasan Sohan.
On the other hand, the spin attack will be led by Mahedi Hasan, Rishad Hossain and Nasum Ahmed, offering variety and control in middle overs — a key focus for Bangladesh in subcontinent conditions.
“The Bangladesh Cricket Board has announced the national squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026,” the BCB said in a statement shared on social media.
Bangladesh will begin their World Cup campaign on February 7 and will be aiming to make a strong impact after mixed results in recent ICC events.
