GUWAHATI, Jan 6: With the Assam Assembly elections nearing, the ruling BJP has intensified its organisational activities and campaign programmes across the districts of the state.

In a statement issued from the party’s state headquarters here on Tuesday, BJP spokesperson Kalyan Gogoi said with the formal announcement of the commencement of the Assembly election campaign through the “wall writing” programme on Monday, extensive organisational activities have been undertaken at the district and mandal levels across Assam.

“During the current week, district executive committee meetings are being organised in all 39 organisational districts of the state under the slogan, ‘Once Again, a BJP-Led Alliance Government.’ Through these meetings, the respective district committees will critically analyse their future course of action and finalise comprehensive strategies to complete preparations for the upcoming elections,” Gogoi said.

The BJP spokesperson further pointed out that under the incumbent government, the state has witnessed wide-ranging public welfare and employment-oriented initiatives.

“These initiatives include transparent recruitment processes, industrial growth, eviction of illegal encroachments, protection of satras, deportation of illegal infiltrators, decisive measures to uphold the dignity and safety of women, establishment of universities and medical colleges, expansion of technical education institutions, prevention of mob violence, and sustained implementation of people-centric development projects,” he said.

“While these initiatives are expected to garner overwhelming public support, the party continues to place utmost emphasis on organisational discipline and grassroots outreach, carrying forward its programmes with renewed vigour,” Gogoi said.

Notably, through the district executive committee meetings commencing on Tuesday, senior state-level party functionaries are being deputed across districts to reaffirm the collective resolve of reaching out to the people.
