JOWAI, Jan 7: The 1st Wailadmiki Shylla Young Festival Football Tournament 2026 held at Thad Mukhla Playground, West Jaintia Hills, kicked off on Wednesday.
A total of 30 different teams are participating in the tournament.
The matches in this tournament are being played in a knock-out format.
Two matches were played on Wednesday. In the first match, Mukhla-A faced Plongingkhaw, where Mukhla-A defeated Plongingkhaw by 1–0.
The lone goal for Mukhla-A was scored by Felixson Bang in the 45th minute of the match.
In the second match, Khliehtyrshi defeated Panaliar by 2–0. Both goals for Khliehtyrshi were scored in quick succession.
Lam Dkhar scored in the 12th minute, and a minute later Khrawkupar Kharsyntiew netted to double the scoreline.
