Video shows cop showering money on bar dancers; suspended

THANE, Jan 10: A Navi Mumbai police constable has been suspended after a viral video purportedly showed him showering currency notes on women dancers at a bar.Ironically, the constable, identified as Anil Sukhdev Mandole, was attached to the Immoral Human Trafficking Prevention Cell (IHTPC).The video showed him showering notes on women dancers while drinking.As the video went viral on social media, causing outrage, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Sachin Gunjal issued an order on January 9, placing the constable under suspension with immediate effect.A departmental inquiry would be conducted, police sources said. Eight held for gangraping 15-year-old girl

NAVSARI (Gujarat), Jan 10: Eight persons were arrested in Gujarat’s Navsari district for allegedly gangraping a 15-year-old girl, a police official said on Saturday.The eight were held under provisions of POCSO Act and BNS, he added.“The incident took place in a village in Vansda town on January 7. The victim had stepped out of her house at 10:30pm to answer nature’s call when three motorcycle-borne men known to her and her family abducted her,” he said.“They took her to a place 2.5 kilometres away where five associates were waiting. The eight gangraped the girl. While seven of the accused are in the 20-21 age group, one is a minor,” the official said.Her family had mounted a search for her at the time and came to know of her ordeal when she came home in the morning, the official said. 38 Bangladeshis deported from Agra

AGRA, Jan 10: As many as 38 Bangladeshi nationals, including eight children, were deported from Agra on Saturday, police said.Assistant Commissioner of Police (Intelligence) Dinesh Singh on Saturday said that on February 5, 2022, 38 Bangladeshi nationals were found illegally residing in Sector 15 of the Sikandra police station area.Of these, 30 were adults (men and women) and eight were minors. None of them possessed any valid documents. The police presented them before the court on charges of illegal residency, and the court sentenced them under the Foreigners Act, he said.After completing their sentences, they were sent to the Bangladesh border by vehicles on Saturday. They will be handed over to the Border Security Force (BSF) on January 13, Singh said. (PTI)
