DHAKA, Jan 23: A Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) leader, Mohammad Hasan Molla, was critically injured in a shooting in Dhaka’s Keraniganj area ahead of February elections.
Assailants on a motorcycle shot him in the abdomen, and he is receiving treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
The attack is part of escalating political violence, including recent killings of BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami leaders. The BNP has criticised law enforcement under the interim Yunus government, highlighting a worsening security and law-and-order situation nationwide. (IANS)
