Two held for assault, robbery in Golf Links

SHILLONG, Jan 27: Police on Tuesday arrested two men in connection with the assault and robbery of two pedestrians near the CM Connect building at Golf Links on January 21.
The accused have been identified as Kitbok Thabah, alias Koi (29), a resident of Golflinks Khliehshnong, and Daniel Syiemlieh (23) of Nongmynsong Dongkamon. A police team led by the In-Charge of the Pasteur Beat House arrested Thabah from Golflinks and apprehended Syiemlieh at his residence.
According to the FIR, the two men were riding a scooter when they assaulted the pedestrians and snatched their mobile phones.
Police successfully recovered the stolen phones and seized the scooter (ML05 AG 0461) used in the crime. A case has been registered at Sadar Police Station under Sections 115(2), 304(2), and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
