SHILLONG, Jan 29: Meghalaya guest player Ajay Duhan starred with both the bat and ball as RangKynshai CC beat Young Guns CC by 7 wickets in the Super Division of the Shillong Cricket League, at MCA Polo ground on Tuesday.
Opting to bat first, Young Guns scored 187-all out in 44.1 overs. Rudra Singh Rathore top scored with a patient 75-ball 53. Angkit Tamang (29 runs off 68 balls) was the next best batter in the Young Guns line-up. Duhan (2/29) and Charm Marbaninag (2/26) were the pick of the bowlers for RangKynshai.
In response, RangKynshai lost an early wicket but Joydeepan Deb carried his bat through the innings with a well paced 68 runs off 75 balls. Duhan, who came to bat at No. 3, looked at ease during his 92-balls stay. He was dismissed at 93, 7 runs short of a century.
Duhan was named the Player of the Match.
