Shillong, Jan 31: Stepping up its preparations for the 39th National Games 2027, the Shooting Association of Meghalaya (SAM) on Saturday inaugurated a newly constructed classroom-cum-office at its premises in Laitumkhrah.
The facility was formally opened during a programme attended by association officials, shooters and invited dignitaries.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by Shri Khroobok Passah, Assistant Director of the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs (DSYA), who attended the event as the chief guest. Congratulating the Association on the addition of the new infrastructure, Passah highlighted the significance of planned training, modern facilities and scientific support systems in helping athletes perform consistently at the national level.
The event saw the presence of a large number of SAM members and shooters, underlining the collective resolve to strengthen shooting sports in Meghalaya ahead of the prestigious multi-sport event.
Also present was Aditi Gargote, a sports psychologist from Gun For Glory, who is currently conducting a specialised sports psychology camp for SAM shooters. The camp, which began on January 26, will conclude on January 30, 2026, and is aimed at improving mental strength, focus and overall competitive readiness of the athletes.
