SHILLONG, Feb 1: A contingent of students from Meghalaya is participating in the 69th National School Games, held at the Thyagaraj Sports Complex, New Delhi, from January 30 to February 3, 2026.
The national-level event brings together young athletes from across the country. The Meghalaya team consists of competitors in the Under-19 Boys and Under-19 Girls categories.
Under-19 Boys Team comprises Dapmon Papang, Lummuroo Higher Secondary School, Shangpung; Karlsten Diengdoh, St. Edmund’s School, Shillong; Haegan Joel Diengdoh, St. Edmund’s School, Shillong; and Mewanlamkupar Marbaniang, Mairang Presbyterian Academy Secondary School, Mairang.
The Under-19 Girls Team includes Sneha Chettri, Army Public School, Shillong; Geryma Liezel Nongkhlaw, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Happy Valley, Shillong; Inriti Nongtraw, Loreto Convent School, Shillong; Deidaphi Marpna, DCA student, Gracyl & Co Institute of Information Technology Society; and Nihaka Lamare, St. Mary Mazerello Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Jowai.
The team is accompanied by officials Eranecles Syiem, Aibanker Kharbithai and Cherish M Patwet.
The 69th National School Games is organised by the Directorate of Education, Government of NCT of Delhi and Sports, under the aegis of the School Games Federation of India (SGFI).
