DGP Nongrang gets six-month extension

SHILLONG, Feb 12: The services of incumbent DGP, Idashisha Nongrang will be extended for another six months from May 19 this year.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of Ministry of Home Affairs for extension in Service of Idashisha Nongrang, for a period of six months beyond 19.05.2026, in relaxation of Rule 16(1) of AIS (DCRB) Rules, 1958, as a special case in public interest.
Nongrang, a 1992 batch IPS Officer, was appointed as the first woman DGP of Meghalaya on May 19 last year.
