SHILLONG, Feb 25: A foetus was found lying near a gate at Madanrting, Block-F, recently. According to the police, the foetus appeared to have been brought to the spot by street dogs around 6 pm on February 18.
Following an inquest and post-mortem examination, the foetus has been kept at Shillong Civil Hospital morgue for identification and claim. A case has also been registered at the Madanrting Police Station in this regard.
Meanwhile, the Superintendent of Police, East Khasi Hills, has requested anyone with information regarding the identity of the individuals involved in the disposal of the fetus to contact the police immediately.
