Hollywood actor Jim Carrey, known for comedies like The Mask, Liar Liar, and Dumb and Dumber, received the Honorary César award for his contributions to the visual arts.
At France’s top cinema honors held at the Olympia in Paris, Carrey delivered an emotional speech in French, calling himself “fortunate” to share his art with audiences worldwide.
Reflecting on his four-decade career across film, television, stand-up, literature, and visual arts, he highlighted how each character is like clay shaped by the actor’s heart.
Carrey attended the ceremony with his daughter Jane, grandson Jackson, and partner Mina, thanking his family and paying tribute to his late father, Percy Joseph Carrey, for teaching him the values of love, generosity, and laughter.
He also humorously acknowledged his limited French skills. (IANS)
