Shillong, March 2: Seng Samla Mawlong Mawriang and Cricket Lovers registered emphatic victories on Day 9 of the 5th District League T20 Cricket Tournament 2026.
In Match 18, Seng Samla Mawlong Mawriang outclassed Saitsohpen Veteran Legend by 60 runs in a high-scoring encounter. After winning the toss and opting to bat, Seng Samla posted a formidable 221 for 2 in their allotted 20 overs. Kitdor Hilary Majaw anchored the innings with a scintillating 95 off 59 deliveries, narrowly missing out on a century. Shngain Kynta was the pick of the bowlers for Saitsohpen Veteran Legend, returning figures of 1 for 28 from his four overs.
Chasing a daunting target, Saitsohpen Veteran Legend managed 161 for 8 in 20 overs. Clement Khongsngi led the resistance with a brisk 46 off 22 balls, but the required run rate proved too steep. Rahul Bhimsubro claimed 2 for 26 in his four overs to keep the pressure on the opposition. For his match-defining knock, Kitdor Hilary Majaw was named Player of the Match.In Match 20, Cricket Lovers delivered a dominant all-round performance to thrash Pomshutia CC by 130 runs. Electing to bat first after winning the toss, Cricket Lovers amassed 202 for 5 in 20 overs. Heiyoomiki Ryngkhlem starred with the bat, smashing 64 off just 30 balls, while Shembhalang Pyngrope picked up 2 for 38 in his four overs.Pomshutia CC faltered in their chase and were bowled out for 72 in 13.4 overs. Heiyoomiki Ryngkhlem was adjudged Player of the Match.
