SHILLONG, March 6: The National People’s Party (NPP) has released its second and final list of candidates for the elections to the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC), scheduled for April 10.
Approved by NPP state unit president Prestone Tynsong, the list features five candidates, namely Jangseng R. Marak for Selsigre, Walbinath Ch Marak for Rongrikimgre, Stevie M. Marak for Boldamgre, Sengko D. Sangma for Raksamgre and Dormonat Ch Sangma for Naguapara. Meanwhile, in a separate development, the Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) of Dadenggre notified the final publication of electoral rolls for the Raksamgre, Naguapara and Jengjal constituencies.
The rolls were prepared with January 1, 2026, as the qualifying date, in accordance with the Assam and Meghalaya Autonomous Districts (Constitution of District Council Rules), 1951.
The documents are available for public inspection at the office of the Returning Officer, West Garo Hills.
