State women shine with 14 medals in zonal kickboxing

Shillong, March 9: Women kickboxers from Meghalaya delivered an impressive performance by securing 14 medals at the Khelo India Asmita Kickboxing Women’s Zonal League, which featured participants from 11 states of the East Zone. The competition was held in Siliguri from February 26 to March 1, 2026.
The Meghalaya contingent competed under the guidance of team coaches Nathaniel P. Kurkalang of Mylliem Mawrie and Ibadarishisha Mukhim of Lumparing Lumdorbar. Several of the medal winners have also qualified for the Khelo India Asmita Kickboxing Women’s National League 2025–26, scheduled to take place in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, from March 26 to 29.Meghalaya secured two gold medals at the event. Daniella I. Wanda Mylliemngap won gold in the Low Kick Senior Female 60 kg category, while Medariphylla Lyngdoh Nongbri topped the Low Kick Senior Female 56 kg category.
