Bon Jovi biopic in the works
A film based on the life and journey of the famous rock band Bon Jovi is now in the works. Universal Pictures has won a bidding war to develop a feature film about the band known for global hits like Livin on a Prayer, You Give Love a Bad Name, and It’s My Life. According to reports, writer Cody Brotter, who also wrote the upcoming thriller Killing Satoshi starring Pete Davidson and Casey Affleck, will pen the screenplay for the project. A director for the film has not been announced yet. The casting for the actors who will play the band members has also not been revealed. Bon Jovi was formed in 1983 and quickly became one of the most popular rock bands in the world. The band’s founding members include singer Jon Bon Jovi, keyboardist David Bryan, and drummer Tico Torres, who are still part of the group today. Guitarist Richie Sambora, who left the band in 2013, and bassist Alec John Such, who left in 1994 and passed away in 2022, were also key members in the early years. (ANI)
Barbra Streisand to receive Cannes Honorary Palme d’Or
Actress-singer Barbra Streisand is set to be conferred with an honorary Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival in May. The occasion will mark the EGOT recipient’s first time appearing at Cannes. She will be presented with the Palme d’Or on May 23 during the festival’s awards ceremony, reports ‘Variety’. She said in a statement, “It is with a sense of pride and deep humility that I’m honored to join the company of past Honorary Palme d’Or recipients whose work has long inspired me. In these challenging times, movies have the ability to open our hearts and minds to stories that reflect our shared humanity, and to perspectives that remind us of both our fragility and our resilience”. Gaurav Kapur, Kritika Kamra tie the knot
On Wednesday, Gaurav Kapur and Kritika Kamra upgraded their relationship to a married couple.
The couple got married at their Bandra home, followed by a sundowner. They solemnised their relationship in a low-key civil marriage ceremony in the presence of family and close friends. For the special occasion, Kritika wore a sindoor red coloured Chanderi sari from Cinnabar, woven from tussar silk. Gaurav opted for a custom Raghavendra Rathore bandhgala. After the ceremony, newlyweds Kritika and Gaurav stepped out of their residence and met with paps. They not only posed for the pictures but also distributed sweets to them. (ANI)
