SHILLONG, March 17: The School of Social Work at Martin Luther Christian University (MLCU) observed World Social Work Day on Tuesday at its Nongrah campus. The programme aligned with this year’s global theme, “Co-Building Hope and Harmony: A Harambe Call to Unite a Divided Society.”
Director of Social Welfare, CD Lyngwa, speaking as the chief guest of the occasion, highlighted the state’s strengths and stressed the importance of sustained efforts to promote inclusive development across all communities.
A key feature of the event was the release of a documentary documenting the lived experiences and fieldwork of social workers, illustrating their contributions at the grassroots level.
