Bollywood actress Sara Ali Khan has been asked to submit an affidavit affirming her belief in Hinduism to seek blessings at the Badrinath and Kedarnath temples, according to Badri-Kedar Temple Committee Chairman Hemant Dwivedi.
Dwivedi stated that henceforth, all non-Hindus must provide proof of faith in Sanatan Dharma to enter and offer prayers.
He added that if Sara submits the affidavit, she will be allowed to perform darshan.
Sara’s spiritual connection with Kedarnath began during the filming of her debut movie Kedarnath in 2017.
Since then, she has returned almost annually, often traveling by trek or helicopter to the high-altitude shrine at 3,583 meters.
Her visits include standard rituals such as early morning darshan and offerings.
Frequently sharing glimpses of her trips on social media, Sara’s repeated visits highlight a personal spiritual practice rather than promotional activity.
Kedarnath, dedicated to Lord Shiva, is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas and a key pilgrimage site in India. (IANS)
