JNC appreciates work on govt college in EJH

JOWAI, March 18: The Jaintia National Council (JNC), Jalaphet Circle, on Tuesday conducted an inspection of the construction site for the upcoming Government College at Jalaphet Bri-Sumer village in East Jaintia Hills.
Led by circle president Andy Bareh, the JNC team observed that groundwork and initial construction activities have commenced on the long-pending project. The Council expressed satisfaction with the progress, noting that the college fulfills a major educational demand for the region.
The JNC extended its appreciation to the MDA 2.0 government and the local MLA of Sutnga-Saipung, Santa Mary Shylla, for their initiatives in addressing the district’s infrastructure needs.
While welcoming the start of work, the Council urged the executing contractor to ensure the project is carried out with diligence and high quality. The JNC emphasised the importance of completing the construction within the stipulated timeframe to avoid delays.
The proposed college is expected to enhance access to higher education and improve academic standards across the district. The JNC Jalaphet Circle added that it would continue to monitor the project’s progress to ensure it meets the interests of the local community.
