TURA, March 18: Meghalaya Pradesh Youth Congress (MPYC) president Timjim Momin has raised concerns over the failure of authorities in Resubelpara, North Garo Hills, to clear garbage dumped across the town.
In a complaint addressed to the Chairman of the Resubelpara Municipal Board, Momin stated that the non-clearance of waste at Mendipathar and surrounding areas is causing hardship for residents and shopkeepers, while creating an eyesore for visitors.
According to Momin, garbage has accumulated at Mendipathar Salpara Bazar, Mendipathar College Road, near the Mendipathar Mingchengram Playground, the main market area, Dilma, and Gajingpara. He noted that the piling waste has resulted in a foul odour and significant public inconvenience.
Momin urged the municipal board to take immediate action to restore cleanliness and hygiene in the area.
