Rajamouli hails Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge

Filmmaker S S Rajamouli has praised Aditya Dhar’s latest film Dhurandhar: The Revenge, calling it bigger and more emotionally powerful than its predecessor.
The sequel, starring Ranveer Singh, has already crossed Rs 200 crore nett at the domestic box office since its release on Thursday.
The film also features R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi, and was released in multiple languages including Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.
In an Instagram post, Rajamouli commended Dhar’s direction, highlighting the film’s writing, casting, technical execution, music, and world-building as flawless.
He especially praised its emotional depth, noting that it keeps audiences engaged throughout its four-hour runtime.
He also applauded Ranveer Singh’s performance, calling it exceptional, and praised Madhavan for effectively portraying the struggles and emotions of a nation.
Set in Karachi’s Lyari area, known for gang conflicts, the film blends fictional storytelling with real geopolitical events such as the Kandahar hijack and the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.
The sequel explores the rise of Hamza Ali Mazari while tracing his past as Jaskirat Singh Rangi, offering both action and character depth.

Roshan commends Dhurandhar

Filmmaker Rakesh Roshan has heaped praise on Aditya Dhar for his latest film Dhurandhar: The Revenge, calling it a landmark achievement that signals a “new era in filmmaking.”
In a detailed social media post, Roshan described the film as “beyond expectations” and lauded Dhar’s vision, passion, and bold storytelling approach.
He emphasized that the film should not be seen as a threat to the industry but as a much-needed creative revolution that encourages filmmakers to rethink and elevate cinematic standards.
The sequel to Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh in the lead, has made a strong box office impact, crossing Rs 100 crore on its opening day.
The film also features an ensemble cast including R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi, all reprising their roles from the original film.
Set in Lyari, a region known for its history of gang violence and turf wars, the Dhurandhar series blends fictional storytelling with real geopolitical events such as the Kandahar plane hijack, the 2001 Indian Parliament attack, and the 2008 Mumbai attacks.
The sequel continues the narrative by charting the rise of Ranveer Singh’s character, Hamza Ali Mazari, in Karachi’s underworld, while also exploring his origins as Jaskirat Singh Rangi.
Through its mix of intense action, emotional storytelling, and layered character development, the film delves deeper into the protagonist’s transformation into a covert operative.
