Young Meghalaya jumper Anrisha leaves for nationals

Shillong, March 22: Promising young athlete Anrisha Klein has left for Bhubaneswar to represent Meghalaya in the 1st National Indoor Athletics Championships, scheduled to be held from March 24 to 25.
Hailing from Ri Bhoi district, the Under-20 high jumper will be among the state’s key hopefuls at the maiden edition of the indoor meet, where athletes from across the country are set to compete. Anrisha, who has a personal performance of 1.60m in the high jump, will be aiming to make her mark on the national stage against some of the best emerging talents in Indian athletics.
She will be accompanied by National Games jumper coach Sumit, who has been entrusted with guiding and supporting her. The exposure to a national-level indoor championship is expected to play a crucial role in the youngster’s development, offering her valuable experience in a competitive environment.
The inaugural edition of the championship marks a significant step for Indian athletics, introducing athletes to indoor competition standards, and providing a platform for young talents like Anrisha to test themselves beyond state-level events.
