RAIPUR, March 28: Chhattisgarh authorities seized 3,841 LPG cylinders from 335 locations during a two-week anti-hoarding drive, resulting in 97 FIRs, officials said. The crackdown aims to ensure smooth cooking gas and petroleum supply amid concerns arising from the West Asia conflict.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai chaired a high-level review on Saturday, directing officials to closely monitor stocks, prevent hoarding and profiteering, and maintain uninterrupted delivery of essential goods.
Sai assured citizens that there is no shortage of LPG, petroleum products, or fertilizers in the state, urging them not to panic or believe rumors.
A state-level control room has been set up, with similar facilities planned in all districts to monitor supply and counter misinformation.
Strict vigilance has been ordered at border check-posts, and uninterrupted gas supply is to be ensured for hospitals, schools, railways, defence units, and other essential services. Citizens can report LPG supply issues via a toll-free number.
Sai emphasized that timely delivery of services and preventing panic remain top priorities, while officials continue monitoring news and social media for misinformation. (PTI)
