Holiday
All state government offices, revenue and magisterial courts, educational institutions, banks and financial institutions in East Khasi Hills will remain closed on April 13 in observance of the concluding day of Shad Suk Mynsiem. However, the local holiday will not apply to central government offices. The announcement was made through an office order issued by the Commissioner and Secretary of the General Administration Department on Monday.

The management of Gorkha Higher Secondary School, Upper Shillong, has congratulated its students for their outstanding performances in the inter-school mini marathon organised by Gorkha Association, Shillong, on Sunday. In the boys’ division, Nikhil Kumar claimed the first position, while Aman Kumar followed closely, securing the second position. In the girls’ category, Sangam Kumari won the first prize, while Sania Kumari secured the fifth position.

The Office of the Deputy Director of Supply, West Garo Hills, has informed that a range of citizen-centric services related to ration cards and allied matters are now available online under the Smart Public Distribution System (SMART-PDS). As per a communication received from the Director, Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Shillong, beneficiaries under Tura Sadar Division can now submit their applications exclusively through the designated online portal: https://ml.smartpds.nic.in/login/citizen. All concerned have been asked to make use of the online services.
