SHILLONG, April 1: The Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills has invited nominations from individuals in the district for the Padma Awards 2027.
The awards—Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri—recognise ‘work of distinction’ and exceptional achievements in fields such as Art, Literature, Education, Sports, Medicine, Social Work, Science, Public Affairs, Civil Service and Trade and Industry. All individuals, regardless of race, occupation, position or gender are eligible, the DC said in a statement.
Intending candidates who wish to be recommended to the government for these honours have been requested to submit their nominations to the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills, on or before June 20.
