Shillong, April 2: Langsning CC registered a comfortable seven-wicket victory over Young Guns CC in the Late P. A. Sangma Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament 2026, organised by the Shillong Cricket Association.
After winning the toss, Langsning CC opted to field first and made early inroads to restrict Young Guns CC to 107 all out in their allotted 20 overs. Despite a fighting effort from the middle order, Young Guns struggled to build momentum against a disciplined bowling attack.
Angkit Tamang top-scored with 24 runs off 19 balls, while Aditya Singh added 25 off 34 deliveries. However, the innings never quite gained the acceleration needed in the latter stages. The standout performer with the ball was Bishal Roy, who delivered an impressive spell, conceding just 14 runs in his four overs while picking up three crucial wickets. He was well supported by Riboklang, who chipped in with two wickets for 12 runs in his three-over spell, tightening the grip on the opposition.Chasing a modest target, Langsning CC approached the run chase with composure, reaching 111 for 3 in just 13.4 overs. Bamanbha anchored the innings with a steady 53 off 43 balls, ensuring there were no major hiccups along the way. Dipankar contributed a useful 25 off 24 deliveries as Langsning maintained control throughout the chase.
For Young Guns, Girish and Angkit managed to pick up a wicket each, but the total proved insufficient to mount any real pressure on the chasing side.
Langsning CC eventually sealed the contest with ease, completing a seven-wicket win and advancing in the tournament.
Bishal Roy was adjudged Player of the Match for his impactful bowling performance, finishing with figures of four overs, 14 runs and four wickets, setting up the victory for his side.
