TURA, April 5: Former GHADC Deputy CEM and Rongrikimgre MDC Nikman Ch Marak on Sunday rubbished claims that he had forged documents to illegally appoint a Nokma for the Chiading area in East Garo Hills, after an FIR was filed against him by one, Rikme T Sangma at the area’s police station.
Filing a counter FIR of his own with the Officer in-charge of Chokpot Police Station in South Garo Hills, Nikman said that he had merely passed an order for the registration of the Nokma based on the records and documents placed before him, back in February this year.
Terming the allegations made against in Sangma’s FIR as false and baseless, Nikma claimed that the complaint was filed merely to harass him and gain advantage in a particular dispute. The content of the FIR against Nikman was published in local newspapers and also went viral in the social media.
Pointing out that the alleged false FIR had damaged his reputation and image as a public representative, Nikmas sought that action be taken against Sangma as per law.
