The National Commission for Women (NCW) has given actor Nora Fatehi a final chance to appear in person regarding her controversial song Sarke Chunar Teri, scheduling the next hearing for April 27, 2026.
The commission rejected her lawyer’s representation during the April 6 hearing.
Lyricist Raqueeb Alam, director Prem, and KVN Productions representatives appeared and submitted written apologies, acknowledging that the song had a negative impact on society.
NCW Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar criticized the lyrics, stating that the dignity of women cannot be compromised in the name of creativity.
The commission also directed actor Sanjay Dutt to appear on April 8.
The song, part of the upcoming Kannada film KD: The Devil, faced widespread backlash for its sexually explicit content and has been removed from YouTube.
The movie is set to release on April 30. (IANS)
