Islamabad, April 6: Pakistan on Monday declined to comment on reports that it had proposed a framework to end the ongoing United States-Iran war, while confirming that peace efforts remain active.
Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi said the government does not comment on specific reports, including a 45-day ceasefire offer or a 15-point plan, but emphasized that the peace process is ongoing.
Pakistan’s mediation efforts began last month and included hosting a quadrilateral meeting with foreign ministers from Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, Egypt, and Pakistan, followed by discussions between Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
They issued a five-point peace plan emphasizing a ceasefire and talks.
Chief of Defence Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir played a central role, maintaining direct contact with officials from the US and Iran to advance the process. (PTI)
