SHILLONG, April 7: The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBoSE) will conduct the SSLC Supplementary Examination 2026, with online submission of forms scheduled to begin from April 14.
According to a notification issued by the Director of Accreditation and Controller of Examinations, TR Laloo on Tuesday stated that students can fill up their forms online from April 14, with the last date for submission set as April 21.
The supplementary examinations are scheduled to be held from May 1 to May 8.
The notification stated that students who were unable to clear the main SSLC examination are eligible to apply for the supplementary exams in the subjects they failed.
It further stated that candidates must apply through designated Supplementary Examination Centres, the details of which will be notified shortly.
The details of the supplementary examination will be available at the MBoSE official website (www.mbose.in).
Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma on Tuesday described the SSLC 2026 results as an impressive achievement, attributing it to the collective efforts and dedication of students, educators, and the broader education system.
He reiterated that the Government of Meghalaya remains committed to supporting every student in their pursuit of a brighter and more successful future.
The Chief Minister also extended his congratulations to students for their hard work, appreciated teachers for their unwavering commitment, and acknowledged the role of families in supporting learners throughout their academic journey.
Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui congratulated students for performing well in the SSLC examinations, stating that the results “speak for themselves,” while encouraging those who did not clear the exams to remain hopeful.
He emphasised that failure is not the end, noting that students will have another opportunity to improve their performance, with the Education Department already announcing that supplementary examinations will be held in May.
Reflecting on the overall outcome, Rymbui said this year’s results are largely in line with last year’s performance. He highlighted the diversity of the merit list as one of the most encouraging aspects, pointing out that top-performing students emerged not only from reputed institutions but also from schools across different regions of the state.
“This reflects the collective efforts of schools working in collaboration with the government to improve the quality of education in Meghalaya,” he said.
Responding to a query on the presence of students from remote and lesser-known schools in the merit list, the minister said the trend reflects a growing awareness among people about the importance of education.
