SHILLONG, April 15: Former West Shillong MLA Mohendro Rapsang on Tuesday said he is “waiting for the right time” to decide his political future following his exit from the National People’s Party (NPP). His comments come amid intense speculation regarding a potential move to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Rapsang stated he is currently consulting his supporters to gauge whether he should return to the electoral fray. “As of now, I am meeting people and checking the pulse. If they want me to contest, I will contest again,” he said.
Acknowledging the talk of him joining the BJP, Rapsang noted that while many supporters have urged him to join the party, a final decision is yet to be made. “Most people want me to join BJP, but as of now I have not decided. When the time comes, I will decide which party to contest from,” he added.
Regarding his departure from the NPP, the former MLA said he has stepped back for the moment to weigh his options before making his next political move.
