Modi, Trump discuss bilateral co-operation
NEW DELHI, April 14: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday held discussions with US President Donald Trump on bilateral co-operation, including several big-ticket deals, US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor said.Some big-ticket deals, including on energy, are expected between India and the US in the next few days and weeks, the ambassador said.The issue of the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz in West Asia also came up during their 40-minute phone conversation, according to Gor.It was the third phone call between the two leaders this year and the first after the recent peace talks between Iran and the US.The call ended with Trump telling PM, “I just want you to know we all love you”, the US ambassador said. 2 MBA students die of suspected drug overdose after concert
MUMBAI, April 14: Two MBA students died due to suspected drug overdose after attending a concert in Goregaon area, police said on Tuesday.Police on Monday arrested six persons including event organisers and a suspected drug supplier.The victims — a young man and a woman — studied at a city-based management institute and were part of a group of 15 students who attended the concert on Saturday.Some members of the group consumed ecstasy — a banned substance — before entering the venue, and went on to have alcohol during the concert.Several of them complained of uneasiness and were rushed to hospital. Two students died while undergoing treatment on Sunday, while another student was still in hospital but in a stable condition.Police registered a case under section 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and other relevant provisions of the BNS and arrested two students, a suspected drug supplier, and three individuals associated with the organisers.
