Legendary singer Asha Bhosle passed away on April 12 following multi-organ failure, leaving the nation and her fans in deep grief and shock.
Her death has been widely mourned, with tributes pouring in from across the country. Her granddaughter, Zanai Bhosle, expressed profound sorrow over the loss and shared an emotional post on social media along with a video capturing cherished moments with her grandmother.
She described Asha Bhosle as her “partner in crime,” “best friend,” and someone who completed her world, recalling the deep personal bond they shared since her birth.
In her message, Zanai spoke about everyday moments she will miss, including sharing morning hugs, having tea together, and the comfort of her grandmother’s presence at home. She also urged people to remember Asha Bhosle for her joy, energy, and love for life, calling her the “definition of life and laughter.”
Zanai added that she believes her grandmother is still watching over the family and mentioned that Asha Bhosle had once promised she would “come back” to her.
Expressing both grief and hope, she said she has lost the “love of her life” and encouraged everyone to celebrate her grandmother’s life by living fully and joyfully, as she would have wanted.
Rishab Rikhiram Sharma pays tribute to Asha Bhosle at concert
Sitarist Rishab Rikhiram Sharma paid tribute to legendary singer Asha Bhosle during his Kolkata concert as part of his Sitar for Mental Health India Tour.
He performed a rendition of the classic song Abhi Na Jao Chhod Kar, originally from the 1961 film Hum Dono and sung by Asha Bhosle and Mohammed Rafi. Videos from the concert show Sharma presenting the tribute before a live audience on Monday.
Asha Bhosle passed away at the age of 92 after being admitted to a Mumbai hospital due to a chest infection and exhaustion.
Her last rites were held in Mumbai with attendance from prominent figures across industries. Known for her extraordinary legacy, she recorded over 12,000 songs across multiple genres in Indian music.
Meanwhile, singer Shreya Ghoshal also honoured her during a London concert, performing some of Bhosle’s iconic songs including Dum Maro Dum and Do Lafzon Ki Hai Dil Ki Kahani. (Agencies)
