Entries for the event must be submitted by April 21, with no late applications to be entertained.Participants will have to undergo a mandatory age screening test on April 23 at the JN Stadium in Shillong, while strict eligibility criteria, including 75 per cent attendance and valid age-proof documents, have been put in place to ensure fair participation.
The Under-14 category will comprise triathlon events along with a mandatory Kid’s Javelin throw, while the older age groups will compete in a range of track and field disciplines, including sprints, middle and long-distance races, jumps, throws and relays.
Athletes in the Under-16 and Under-18 categories can participate in a maximum of two individual events and one relay.
Team championships will be decided on a points system, with awards also set for the best athletes based on performances.
Notably, athletes progressing from the district meet will go on to represent East Khasi Hills at the state-level competition, making the event a crucial platform for emerging talent.
Organisers have urged all schools to ensure proper registration of athletes with the Athletics Federation of India, as it is mandatory for participation at the state level.
With preparations underway, the meet is expected to witness enthusiastic participation and serve as a key stepping stone for budding athletes in the region.
