INDIAN PREMIER LEAGUE | KL RAHUL’S 152* VS PBKS IS THE HIGHEST IPL SCORE BY AN INDIAN

MATCH TODAY – MUMBAI INDIANS VS SUNRISERS HYDERABAD AT 7:30 PM

New Delhi, April 28: Delhi Capitals captain Axar Patel confirmed that Australian pace spearhead Mitchell Starc has linked up with the squad and will be available for selection after May 1, providing a major boost to the franchise as the IPL enters its crucial second half.
However, Axar clarified that Starc’s inclusion in the playing XI will depend on workload management, with the team keen to ensure the left-arm quick is used carefully during the demanding stretch of the tournament. His arrival is expected to strengthen Delhi’s pace attack significantly after their disappointing batting collapse against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Monday.
Speaking after the defeat, Axar also defended the decision to hand a debut to youngster Sahil Parakh, saying the move was made to maintain a left-right opening combination and because of the youngster’s strong performances in training sessions leading up to the match.
Despite the heavy defeat, Axar ruled out major changes to the playing XI, insisting that one poor performance should not force unnecessary panic within the camp. He stressed that consistency in selection and mental resilience were more important than reactive changes. (PTI)
