Jimmy Fallon welcomed Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh on The Tonight Show, praising his global popularity and saying audiences had warmly responded to his earlier appearance.
Fallon and Dosanjh shared a light-hearted interaction, with Fallon learning bhangra steps from the singer while Dosanjh performed his song Morni. The segment was widely shared on social media, including an Instagram clip posted by Fallon.
Dosanjh spoke about carrying messages of “love, forgiveness and respect” and explained Punjabi phrases like “Main Hoon Punjab” and “Punjabi aa gaye oye,” describing them as expressions of identity and pride.
He also reflected on the significance of performing to a 55,000-strong crowd in Vancouver, linking it to the historical Komagata Maru incident of 1914, when South Asian migrants were denied entry into Canada.
The singer said he is a 10th-pass graduate and joked about his English, drawing laughter from the audience.
Fallon congratulated him on his album Aura, which has surpassed 100 million streams. Dosanjh continues to enjoy international success through music, films, and global performances. (PTI)
